MINISTERING ANGELS - December 2020
MINISTERING ANGELS
“I am convinced that one of the profound themes of the book of Mormon, one which may not yet have been developed enough in our teaching, is the role and prevalence and central participation of angels in the everlasting gospel story.
I believe we need to speak of and believe in and bear testimony to the ministry of angels more than we sometimes do. They constitute one of God’s great methods of witnessing through the veil, and no document in all this world teaches that principle so clearly and so powerfully and so often as does the Book of Mormon.”
“May I suggest to you that one of the things we need to teach our students, and one of the things which will become more important in their lives the longer they live, is the reality of angels, their work, and their ministry. Obviously, I speak here not alone of the angel Moroni, but also of those more personal ministering angels who are with us and around us, empowered to help us, and who do exactly that.”
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, “A Standard unto My People.”, CES Conference on the Book of Mormon, 9 August 1994
“Angels who come to us are not strangers but are “from the ranks of our kindred, friends, and fellow-beings and fellow-servants” and can include “our fathers and mothers, brothers, sisters and friends who have passed away from this earth, having been faithful, and worthy to enjoy these rights and privileges, who may have a mission given them to visit their relatives and friends upon the earth again, bring from the divine Presence messages of love, of warning, or reproof and instruction, to those whom they had learned to love in the flesh.”

What is the correlation between covenants and ministering angels?
Do covenant makers and keepers have greater access to the gift of ministering angels?

"The Angel Dance" by Darcey Huish
Like dancing to beautiful music, they gracefully move about,
The Angel Dance I call it, good deeds that never run out;
Although our eyes do not behold them, they surround us, this I'm sure,
Doing the sweet dance of angels, with motive always pure;
These peaceful, gracious angels, sent on errand from God above,
Are quietly watching over us, with protection and with love.
Some may call it coincidence; others may call it chance,
But as for me, I know they are there, doing the Angel Dance;
And then there are the angels that we do see with our eyes,
Still busy with the Angel Dance, but not in any disguise;
They live next door or down the street, their kindness knows no end,
They are the angels we are blessed to know, and call our dearest friend.
